Home.
Hope life is treating you well. We have had a busy year as always. The boys are growing up fast and like all kids nowadays seem to have something on nearly every night. Toby started at secondary school in September. He took and passed the entrance exam to Lingfield Notre Dame school and is enjoying the challenge of lots of different subjects to learn and new friends to make.

Kevin changed his job in June to join Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander as head of internal audit. Unfortunately they went into administration in October and although he is still working there will be looking for a new job next year.  He finally finished his MSc in Environmental Management this year and was delighted to gain a distinction.

In April we spent 2 weeks in Spain visiting the Sierra Nevada mountain range and spending a few days in Seville before  decamping to the beach for a week. It was a very enjoyable break. The scenery was stunning and we thought Seville was a very interesting City.

In the summer we were very lucky to get tickets to the ladies final at Wimbledon and watched the Williams sisters slog it out on Centre Court. For our summer holiday we bought a tent and spent a week camping in Norfolk. It was a good break we managed to do a fair bit of cycling with the children – even James managed a 9 mile bike ride. The weather was rather changeable ranging from quite pleasant sunshine to floods. Luckily our campsite had very good drainage and didn’t get too squelchy.

Kev reached the grand old age of 40 this year and we celebrated with family and friends in the summer. We also spent a few days in Dubai in November without the children. It was a very relaxing break and also very hot. We liked Dubai and found it very interesting. The shopping centres are amazing although I think appealed more to me than Kev. One of them is famous for its indoor ski slope with real snow. With temperatures outside of over 30°C I don’t think the environment campaign has reached the Middle East yet!

We hope you have a lovely Christmas and send you our best wishes for the New Year

Love,   Karen, Kevin, Toby, William and James
